Charlton eased their way into the Third Round of the FA Cup after dispatching fellow League One side Carlisle United.

Chris Powell made six changes from the team that started against Huddersfield with four strikers plus Ruben Bover on the bench to provide the insurance if needed.

The first half was a tame affair that failed to excite the sparse crowd. Carlisle had the better of the opening period but Charlton ooze confidence these days.

The break through came came just passed the hour mark. A corner on the left was taken by Green and met by Leon Cort. Cort’s effort came out to Morrison whose attempt was also blocked but the in-form defender was on hand to smash home the rebound from close range.

Kermorgant, Wright-Phillips and Euell were late replacements for Green, Hayes and Evina and the trio combined to seal the game in the last minute. Good work down the right by Kermorgant saw Wright-Phillips cross for Euell to scuff the ball home.

Winning without playing particularly well is the sign of a good team. The Addicks will be hoping for a plum third round tie. The draw will take place at around 2.40pm on Sunday and Charlton will be ball number 64.
